The three boys Randy, Shawn, and Scott were all exposed to earthmoving at a very young age and learned every piece of equipment possible. After acquiring the necessary equipment, in 1991 Eddie and Dixie made the commitment to form Schweitzer Construction. At the start there were only two employees and 3 pieces of equipment, but day by day it grew to what it is today.

Eddie has since retired to the shop where he oversees all maintenance and condition of the equipment and the major role in the business, caring for the four guard dogs.

Schweitzer Construction has now become a state certified woman owned business, owned and operated by Dixie. Scott and Randy are still involved helping their mom in any way they can with the successful operations of the business. The company has now grown to more than 30 employees and 50 pieces of equipment. The plans are to grow with the future as much as possible.
